My name is Dean Thompson, and I am a Certified General Appraiser specializing exclusively in the valuation of commercial and industrial real estate throughout Metro Atlanta and North Georgia. I have operated DTI Commercial Appraisals for more than 25 years, bringing decades of experience and in-depth local market knowledge to every assignment.

My involvement in the Atlanta-area real estate market dates back to the mid-1980s. From 1985 to 1990, I worked as a licensed real estate agent before transitioning into the appraisal profession in early 1990, when I joined a local county tax assessor’s office. During my tenure there, I appraised a wide range of commercial properties and ultimately served as head of the Commercial Appraisal Department for the final five years of my employment. In mid-1999, I established DTI Commercial Appraisals, where I have continued to focus solely on commercial and industrial appraisal work. This singular focus allows me to provide clients with well-supported, USPAP-compliant appraisal reports tailored to lending, estate planning, tax appeal, and investment purposes.

My wife and I lived in McDonough, Georgia for 24 years, where we raised our family and where much of my appraisal practice was built. In 2018, we relocated to Canton, Georgia to be closer to family, which also serves as the current base of my appraisal operations.

I do not appraise single-family residential properties, as my practice is dedicated exclusively to commercial and industrial real estate valuation.
