Dean Thompson is a Georgia Certified General Real Property Appraiser and owner of DTI Commercial Appraisals, an independent commercial real estate appraisal practice based in Canton, GA. Established in 1999, DTI specializes exclusively in the appraisal of commercial and industrial real estate throughout North Metro Atlanta and North Georgia.
Dean's involvement in the Atlanta-area real estate market dates to the mid-1980s. He worked as a licensed real estate agent from 1985 to 1990 before entering the appraisal profession with a local county tax assessor's office. During his tenure there, he appraised a broad range of commercial properties and ultimately served as head of the Commercial Appraisal Department for the final five years of his employment. He established DTI Commercial Appraisals in 1999 and has since focused exclusively on commercial and industrial real estate appraisal.
DTI is intentionally structured as a small, independent appraisal practice, allowing each assignment to receive direct and personal attention from start to finish. Dean personally handles client communication, property inspections, research, analysis, and report preparation for every appraisal. This hands-on approach provides each client with the full attention of the firm and a level of continuity that can be difficult to achieve in larger appraisal organizations.
Appraisals are prepared in accordance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and applicable State of Georgia laws and regulations.
